Calling all singers, performers, lovers of Disney and artists: Join the Spring Musical! 

Be transported to the African Savanna and join in the artistry and music of one of Disney and Broadway’s top productions: The Lion King. In this story of growing up, family, friends, loss, and leadership, the Circle of Life continues and the question you must ask yourself is: will you take your place onstage or off?                                                             

Perform in a choir, act onstage in costume, help build sets and

more. 

Mrs. Maria O’Connor is thrilled to return for her 11th production at Blessed Sacrament, working alongside the esteemed Jeanette Berry as the music director. Mrs. O’Connor has shown the spotlight on BSS students for the past 10 productions: High School Musical 2, Frozen, Moana, Shrek, Little Mermaid, Once on this Island, Mulan, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Annie and Wizard of Oz and she can’t wait to include in this year’s Lion King!

Kindergarten-4th grade:

Join the chorus! Chorus members will attend two rehearsals, the afternoon of the dress rehearsal, and all performances. You will learn 2-3 group songs to sing with the cast. This is a great introduction to theater and there is no need to audition. 

Grades: K-4th

Reheardals Dates: 3/20, 3/27, 4/3

Performances Dates: 4/4, 4/5

5th-7th grade:

Join the ensemble! You will be singing, dancing, and acting onstage in groups of characters. Ensemble members will attend about half the rehearsals. There is no need to audition UNLESS you are interested in being an understudy for a lead role. These roles require an auction video. Please email a 2 minute or less video of you singing any song to BSSMusical@gmail.com by December 10.

8th grade:

Star in the show! The show is a culmination of the 8th grade year and a bonding experience for the whole class, so all 8th grade students will participate on or offstage. There are 3 options to participate: 

1. You may be an actor onstage in costume, learning scenes, songs, and dances through the rehearsal period.
2. You may join the 8th grade choir which will learn group songs in music class and only rehearse after school the final 2 weeks. 
3. You may help backstage, build sets, or help at shows.
